Beginning/Intermediate/Advanced Girls Recreational Gymnastics (ages five through 18)—These classes are made up exclusively of girls. We pair girls of similar ages and ability levels together. Girls are introduced to the full-sized equipment and learn beam, uneven bars, floor, and vault exercises.
Some of the specific skills they learn include straddle jump, forward roll, backward roll, handstand, cartwheel, bridge, and splits. As they advance, their skill level increases to include back hip circle, front handspring, back handspring, vault drills, cartwheel on beam, back walk over, back extension, and round-off. The beginning class is geared towards girls with little gymnastics experience. Girls progress through classes as they advance in their skill level. Intermediate and advanced classes meet more frequently and for longer sessions. |
